What to Bring on Retreat?
  • Yoga Mat- We will be doing some gentle movement and you may be more comfortable on your own mat.
  • Comfortable Clothes- Comfortable clothes means something different to everyone. Make sure to bring comfy and stretchy clothes if you intend to participate in yoga.
  • Layers- It will be May, so the temperature may be a fairly wide range. Evenings and mornings may be cool, and afternoons will likely be hot.  It may rain. Packing layers ensures you are comfortable regardless of the weather outside and inside.
  • Comfortable Shoes- While there are no hiking trails directly onsite, there is a State Park a mile or two away, and walking the road is always an option. The State Park requires a cash fee!  Palomar observatory is also an option!
  • Hat, Sunscreen, Sunglasses-  If you’re planning to spend some time in the sun, bring anything you may want to have on-hand to protect yourself from overexposure, such as SPF, a hat, and sunglasses. We will be over 5000 feet up, so the sun may be stronger than you'd anticipate.
  • Water Bottle- We will have some disposable water bottles on hand, but also jugs to refill from.  Being at altitude means that we will need to hydrate!
  • Your Favorite Journal- With space and time, you may be inspired.  If you have a special journal or something you often write in, bring it on your retreat so you can add your new experiences and thoughts.
  • A Book- Books can be great tools for inspiration and to make notes in. If you'd like a book to dive into in advance of retreat, I'd recommend Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Buddha's Brain, by Rick Hanson, or Parenting in the Present Moment, by Carla Naumburg.
  • Games- Saturday night is wide open- bring a game to share, a story to tell, some wine or fun beverage to sip.
  • An Open Mind, Curiosity and a Sense of Adventure- Who knows what will actually happen, but coming with an open mind and sense of curiosity ensures that you will receive all that is offered without prejudgment, and your adventurous self will have the most opportunity to find renewal in whatever comes.

Looking forward to our getaway!!
